Subject: Marketing Your T-Shirts

Today is our last lesson on the topic of making money with t-shirts, and we’re going to explore some methods you can use to promote your shirts.

The most popular method for promoting shirts is to use Facebook ads. Facebook ads are popular, because they make it very easy to target the people who would most likely be interested in your shirt. Because Facebook ends up becoming a showcase for one’s hobbies and interests for most users, it’s easy for Facebook to tell what each person is most interested in.

Users typically fill out their profiles with stuff such as where they went to school, where they work, what they do at their job, when they were born, their religious affiliation, their political views, and much more. Not only that, but they’ll “like” pages that you can also use to target them.

Let’s say you want to create a t-shirt for women who are between 25 and 55 years of age and are nurses. You can easily use Facebook to target them by gender, age, and occupation.

Now let’s say you create a shirt for artists, but you’re not sure whether to target males or females, or what age range they might be. You can find Facebook pages that are specifically for artists and use those pages to target artists. For example, under the interest section, you can target those popular artist communities.

Of course, paid ads aren’t the only way to get traffic from Facebook. If you have your own Facebook group or page with a significant number of members, you can use that as a free method to promote your shirts.

Pinterest is another great place to market your shirts. You’ll need to get a decent number of followers that will repin your images, but once you do that, your followers may help you promote your shirts for free.

Pinterest also has a “Promoted Pins” program, which is their paid ads program. If you don’t have many followers that can help you gain traction for free, you can use paid ads to help boost your images.

Wanelo.com is an option if you have a Shopify website or are selling through one of their partners, like Skreened. Wanelo stands for Want, Need, Love, and it’s a site similar to Pinterest that is specifically for sharing products.

You can also sell your products on Amazon if you’d like to purchase a number of your shirts upfront and send them in to the Amazon FBA system. You will need to pay $39.99 per month to sell clothing on Amazon, because you need a “Professional Seller” account. You’ll also have to apply for approval to sell in the clothing category. But once you have approval, selling your designs on Amazon can be incredibly lucrative.

This concludes our email series on making money selling t-shirts. I hope you’ve learned a lot, and that you’ll now take what you’ve learned and go make a whole lot of money with it.

Good luck!
